Own your learning ...
Thank you for that video, Samuel Suresh (on YouTube, real great Videos) and your professor who gave you that answer.
Because it gave me a lot of hope when I see, that young fellas like him are realizing, that the basic education driven by the governments, are only there to create compliant citizens. Which hopefully never start to think for themselves.
He brings it so perfectly to the point, that he was even got punished if he tried to “learn”. But with “real learning”, understanding how things work, happens.
I see it with my children, they are not interested at all in learning. Only to comply with the system. Something that scares me and I hope so much they only hide it from me, that inside of them is still interest in life itself and the curiosity to learn about everything. And not as it feels to me right now, to getting rid of hours during the day, because tomorrow won’t be that boring.
I don’t give up to believe in both of them! But as I only have them 50% of the time and the other side always reassure everything is just fine, it’s hard to see at the moment.
It gave myself hope, too. I’m very slow in everything I do. I heard this morning during my meditation session about the example, that the majority - as I say too - is rushing around to fill up their heads with even more “thoughts”.
So I think after all, it is not that bad, to be slow like me, as long as you stay open minded and curious, with an eagerness to learn and trying to understand life better.
