I had a very sad shopping experience today, because anybody was wearing masks.

For me this concludes in the following implications - I’m not a doctor! - only listener and observer, includes assumptions:

  1. A lot of additional, hard to recycle trash is created - it may be burned, or it will fill up landfill sites. Environmental impact = adding up, devastating

  2. The oil industry is once more thankful to have an excuse, because even more plastics (gloves, masks) get produced.

  3. The masks were in my understanding misused in their handling, because the given facts - I see it as the assumptions that get sold to the public - for keeping infections from spreading, are the wrong ones.

  4. There is an impact on the person who carry masks, especially the ones who do not can clean them because of their working situation, or are not trained in hygiene of using the same.

  5. Anyone with respiratory preconditions will have negative impacts on her/his overall health because of the limited breathing capabilities.

  6. The psychological impact are, that people are already having issues to interpret the faces of others. Now only eyes can be seen - so how to interpret, if someone is amused, scared, … - you won’t know and the further “separation and isolation between humans”, once more multiplies. More fear creating situations can be easily generated. Children will have no references for learning, through visual expressions, from their parents in certain situations.

In my understanding the negative impacts far outweigh the “may positive” ones.
