They go for - Money.
Not for the development of individuals.

I listened to a Podcast with the COO of Notion (Note taking App & more) today and think he fully beliefs in what he’s saying. So I’m not here to judge his statements.

It’s about my observation.

For me it is quite clear that Notion, like Roam Research and their alike all have “noble goals” in contributing. But as long as these goals include “more money for themselves” (investors), more then to feed themselves, their families and the expenses the business “really generates”. - They all will fail for fulfilling their “noble goals”, because they’ll be forgotten.

They’ll put their users (followers) in cages. They may are golden ones. But if you aren’t able later on, when the “paying” starts, to contribute in money, all what you put in will be lost there.

This is sad, because this could be liberating tools, they help people to develop further. Exactly, things that money can’t buy.

We have to stop this kind of thinking about how to generate more of something that doesn’t contribute to sustainable life - and I’m mad about myself, that my writing stops right here, too.

Because I can’t give you instructions for how to do it.
