It could be ...
Even funny, but it’s not.
Watching the people turning, I think getting turned, against Cryptocurrencies.
The biggest hook used against it, “energy usage”.
Looking at the details of the technology it has really, as so many before, positive and smart ideas involved, but in the context of driving “capitalism further”, it does fail, as any other Fiat currencies do, to help humankind, I think.
What makes me mad in this discussions, the term “energy usage” - WTF?
All the armies of this world, one of the number one producer’s of toxic waste, exhausts, general garbage not recycleable, generating the biggest impact on the environment and 90% I assume, are unaccounted for.
Only reason to be still be in place, that a bunch of “(mainly) old and power hungry guys/gals” are able to play their war games(?).
By the way banks, insurance companies, their IT isn’t not really better either, often running outdated systems (major power consumption), because of “fear of change” causes them loses, sold as “our customers would suffer”, they only want to not lose one cent in transactions - that’s all.
We are having a lot of “virtual sickness” in our system and it makes me sad.
Because in the end, we’re and even more so the following generations, that will lose valuable lifetime, as we discussing about nothingness, always concentrating on the wrong things, to avoid change and postponing useful action.
