Interesting, when an economist talks about his positive outlook for AI.

He described it in the way, that the robots will do our busy work and yeah, you can do other stuff that brings you more from whatever …, but should we not have a closer look, when this “lesser work” can be done by AI (somebody else), why is it even considered necessary in the first place?

Does this not clearly shows us, that so many of the things we do, are completely useless to mankind after all.

This work, that is done, causing so much suffering and destruction to the only place we can live on, as it is a waste of energies (life, electricity, …).

Why is there not an awakening about just that point, to leave out all the useless stuff in the first place and to create something positive instead?

Why is nobody talking about that?

Because when we let do AI all this useless things, knowing how much energy AI already consumes, the planet will be gone by the time, won’t be habitable anymore, when the benefits outweigh the losses.

The same person afterwards was praised from the podcast hosts to be so ethically and thinking about society. So a really smart person, but taking his statements, he completely left out the basics for survival on this planet, I think.

And he’s not the only one lately.

Or is there this naiv, hopeful belief humankind will get it together after all in time and its only for me so hard to grab that 🤔
